JUO had their first recital at the Victorian Artist's Society on the 23rd of March, 2018. The stunning art gallery space provided equally beautiful acoustics for the booming piano and singing cello. Joshua Dema (cello) and Joyce Chahine (piano) spent the past few months organising and preparing for this event - and it was undoubtedly a success with an audience just over capacity! They played a varied and exciting programme, including works by Popper, Bartok, Schumann and finishing off with the mighty Cello Sonata by Grieg. During intermission, their audience were able to sip on delicious red and white Italian wines kindly sponsored by Pizzini Wines. Below are a few snapshots from the evening and both players were over the moon with their musical achievements that night.
